Short Description of the Topic

This workshop aims at demonstrating the potential of Software Nvivo for qualitative data analysis. Students will be introduced to basic functions (types of sources, sources import, attributes and classifications, nodes and cases, etc) and advanced functions (queries, etc) of the software in qualitative research deriving from various qualitative research designs.

Maria Carmo Carvalho

Maria Carmo de Azevedo Carvalho has a Degree, a Masters and a PhD in Psychology by the University of Porto. Carmo is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Education and Psychology - Catholic University of Portugal - Porto. She has been a clinical psychologist accredited by the Portuguese Bar of Psychologists since 2016. She is Vice-President of the International Center for Ethnobotanical Education Research and Service (www.ICEERS.org), and she has been coordinating psychological emergency services for people who use drugs at recreational environments since 2010. Her research topics include addictive behaviors, nightlife and recreational environments, drug policy (adult-use cannabis regulation) and psychedelic science (therapeutic potential of psychedelics).
