Universidade Católica Portuguesa will be represented in two international thematic groups promoted by the European University Association (EUA), further strengthening its participation in European networks dedicated to reflection on and policy development for higher education.

The University will be represented by Diana Soares, coordinator of the Católica Learning Innovation Lab and faculty member at the Faculty of Education and Psychology, who has been selected to join both working groups.

According to Diana Soares, "Participation in these groups provides an opportunity to contribute to European discussions on issues that are particularly relevant to the future of higher education, while also learning from the experiences of other institutions and strengthening our internal reflection on pedagogical innovation, doctoral education and the responsible use of artificial intelligence."

As part of the 2026–2027 EUA Learning & Teaching Thematic Peer Groups, Universidade Católica Portuguesa will join the "Engaging students as co-creators in learning and teaching" group, which focuses on approaches that involve students as co-creators of teaching and learning processes. The group will explore topics such as curriculum design, pedagogical approaches, assessment, and the institutional conditions that support more participatory and student-centred models of higher education.

Universidade Católica Portuguesa will also be represented in the European University Association Council for Doctoral Education (EUA-CDE) thematic group, "Navigating artificial intelligence in doctoral education", which focuses on the opportunities and challenges that artificial intelligence presents for doctoral education, particularly in the areas of supervision, academic integrity, research, and the responsible use of AI tools.
