Patrícia Oliveira-Silva é doutorada em Psicologia Clínica, Professora de Neurociências e diretora do Human Neurobehavioral Laboratory (HNL), um laboratório comprometido com o ensino e a investigação na área das neurociências que inclui investigadores pós-doutorados e estudantes de doutoramento, mestrado e licenciatura. O foco principal da sua investigação é explorar a interação entre os processos psicológicos e neurofisiológicos. Mais especificamente está interessada em aplicar os métodos da Neurociência, predominantemente medidas psicofisiológicas, periféricas, a um espectro de comportamentos sociais e condições clínicas (incluindo resposta empática, regulação emocional, comportamento pró-ambiental e demências). Também se tem comprometido com a investigação interdisciplinar, iniciando duas linhas de investigação em colaboração com o CBQF, uma relacionada com uma perspetiva multidisciplinar do comportamento enquanto consumidor e outra focada no desenvolvimento e validação de protocolos psicofisiológicos para a avaliação de novos produtos comerciais. A sua investigação tem recebido financiamento da Fundação Bial, da FCT e da CCDRN. Além disso, tem defendido a importância da Ciência aberta, das parcerias estratégicas com as indústrias e da internacionalização do Ensino Superior, e tem organizado e presidido vários eventos internacionais (Escolas de Verão, conferências internacionais, etc.). É atualmente editora assistente do jornal da APA Psychology & Neuroscience, membro convidado do Affect, Personality and Embodied Brain - o grupo APE da Nottingham Trent University (Reino Unido) e um dos três membros do conselho de administração da FEP, responsável pela Internacionalização, Investigação e Responsabilidade Social.
