I chose this program because of the renown associated with the instituted, which is proven through the rankings and professional excellence. I discovered that not only does renown make a home, but also its residences. Since the first moment I arrived, there was never a moment I felt lost in the hallways of FEP. I was welcomed by a team of instructors and workers, whose tireless effort guided me through the turbulence of transitioning [to the university] and quickly made me feel welcomed and integrated. Here, I feel that there are no closed doors: we are individually heard and supported through the mentoring service, constantly guided and motivated by instructors, brought into a diverse range of activities and programs that not only allow us to be exposed to different contexts, but also to mold us individually and professionally.

Through this program, we are exposed to a very strong practical component, and the content itself brings together various curricular units, which helps facilitate learning. I can now understand material that I once considered unachievable by me, which is the result of a carefully defined program that respects the diverse academic backgrounds of its students.

I feel certain about my decision to study Psychology at Católica and proud to be part of an institution in the training of professionals and excellent human beings.

Talking about UCP's Psychology Degree means talking about human relationships of help and growth. To me, the pillar of education in this university is the people, the closeness and the contact. Through relationships established between the departmental faculty and the students, a space is fostered for diversity, exchange and progress. As a student, I feel that my professors stimulate my curiosity, which gives me the tools to grow as a future professional with a crucial awareness and, above all else, gives me such freedom to question [the world around me], nurturing my passion for Psychology.

Being a part of UCP's Psychology department is a privilege.

It is a privilege to be a student on the Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the Faculty of Education and Psychology of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa. The course offers a comprehensive overview of psychology and its applicability, transcending the traditional clinical setting or context; nowadays, psychology is present across many different sectors and environments. The lecturers constantly challenge us to question, to analyse critically, and to consider multiple perspectives, helping us develop the skills required for professional practice in Psychology.

Furthermore, the curriculum promotes extracurricular and community involvement through, for example, the optional module ‘Community Service’. Through this, I was able to volunteer regularly at the Santa Cruz do Bispo Prison, which allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge within a real-world setting. This experience enabled me to explore a field aligned with my professional interests and to deepen my understanding of the responsibility inherent in psychological practice.

The sharing of knowledge and values rooted in excellence prepares us for our future, and offers fundamental tools for our development. It is also worth highlighting the professionialism and expertise of the entire faculty, the constant support, and the availability provided by the entire community. Beign a part of FEP is investing in the construction of an enriching and promising journey.

When I chose a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Católica Porto, I was looking for rigorous training within a close-knit environment. I did not imagine, however, just how much this experience would transform me. Today, I feel I am exactly in the right place. What I value most at Católica is the close relationship with the lecturers; there is attentive, individualised support, and many of the teaching staff are practising psychologists, which enriches the classes with a practical and contemporary perspective.

Sharing this journey with colleagues who share the same motivations is also special. From the first year, we formed strong bonds and friendships that I know will last. The course consistently balances theory and practice, offering a solid foundation and various opportunities to get involved in projects, volunteering, and academic initiatives.

For those considering this degree, I have one piece of advice: come prepared to work, to question, and to question yourselves. Studying Psychology at Católica goes beyond theory - it is about learning to think critically and applying knowledge to the real world.

Receiving a merit scholarship during my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology was a profoundly significant moment in my journey. More than just academic recognition, it was confirmation that all the effort, dedication, and persistence throughout this path truly mattered. There were moments of great emotional demand, where fatigue and uncertainty took hold and balancing everything felt like a constant challenge. Nevertheless, I stood firm, driven by the desire to learn, grow, and honour the commitment I made to Psychology and to my future as a professional. This scholarship represents not only the recognition of hours of study and quiet dedication but also a powerful emotional incentive to keep believing that consistent effort - even when invisible to others - is worth it.
