Education Studies Collection

The Education Collection brings together a wide range of titles that reflect - both theoretically and empirically - on the aims and functions of education, addressing political guidelines as well as the concrete actions of schools.
Its overarching goal is to disseminate thoughtful and nuanced knowledge about the multiple realities that seek to make education a promise of human and social fulfilment. To this end, it features authors from diverse backgrounds (academics, education professionals, and teachers), offering a pluralistic view of the many facets of the educational world.
This is a collection that draws on theoretical frameworks to understand reality, but above all, it aims to highlight experiences of innovation and renewal in educational practice. It is therefore closely aligned with the real-world contexts where education can truly be realized in all its plurality, diversity, and inclusiveness.

SAME – E-books Collection

The SAME E-books Collection, in the words of its Director, José Matias Alves, arises from challenges posed to teachers working in diverse professional contexts - challenges rooted in the themes and issues that shape the mission of nurturing "the people who live within students" and in singular professional journeys.

This origin supports the belief that teachers (and students) can be authors of their own destinies and thereby assume the role of public authority.

The collection includes a range of titles that promote, explore, stimulate, and highlight critical reflection and discussion around teaching and learning practices. It addresses and integrates dimensions and approaches of reflection-for-action within contemporary education, projecting horizons of inspiration and hope.

DESAFIOS Notebooks

The DESAFIOS Notebooks are a regular source of reflection on practices developed through the work of SAME, revealing two essential dimensions:

  • Accounts of best practices implemented in schools and led by teachers;
  • Training and research activities carried out on and within action, most often with teachers as the primary authors

As such, the Desafios Notebooks affirm both the authorship and authority of teachers, serving as signs of an agency for the transformation of organizational and pedagogical practices, and opening up new possibilities that show another kind of education - and professional identity - is possible.

Eduletters

Inspired by the Academia Letters, Eduletters are short synopses of ongoing projects and/or research findings carried out at the Faculty of Education and Psychology, drawn from its various academic programs: master’s, doctoral, post-doctoral studies, postgraduate programs, and advanced training in educational sciences.

Eduletters serve as a kind of work in progress for broader projects or executive summaries of completed research, with the goal of sharing the knowledge produced.

This is yet another way of building an open and engaged scientific community, committed to sharing the knowledge we produce in an accessible and concise format.
