The School of Education and Psychology at the Catholic University of Portugal (FEP-UCP in Portuguese) was created in 2007 from the Institute of Education, which was founded 10 years prior. Through these years of activities, since the initial programmatic offerings of the Education Sciences and eventually Psychology, our journey has expanded and consolidated three fundamental dimensions of our mission – teaching, research and social-academic responsibility. Today, we are a school recognized for the quality of our work at the regional, national and even the international level.
At FEP-UCP, we are committed to offering a solid Bachelor’s, Master’s, and doctoral education in the fields of Psychology and Education Sciences. As a result, our programs have had more than 1,500 students whose abilities and knowledge have been recognized by the job market.
We have a research group – The Research Center for Human Development (CEDH in Portuguese) – that is financed by the Foundation for Science and Technology. Through the CEDH, we collaborate in national and international networks to pursue research projects that respond to the problems and challenges in contemporary societies.
We also have two centers that provide services to the community: the University Psychology Clinic (to promote psychological well-being) and the Support Service for Educational Improvement (to promote higher quality in education). Through these programs, we have responded to the developmental needs of our communities.
In a context that challenges us in the present and announces significant changes for the future, FEP-UCP is focused on guaranteeing a high level of quality and rigor in its activities in a climate of flexibility, adaptation and innovation, and always in close proximity and support of its students and everyone in the community.
Welcome to the School of Education and Psychology at Católica!
