Cristina Palmeirão is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Education and Psychology of the Catholic University in Porto. She holds a PhD in Educational Sciences from the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences at the University of Porto.
Currently, she coordinates the Educational Improvement Support Service (SAME) and serves as a Scientific Consultant in the field of Education.
Author and co-author of several national and international publications, Cristina Palmeirão also contributes regularly as a speaker and trainer in seminars, conferences, congresses, and professional development initiatives. Her research activity is carried out within the Research Centre for Human Development (CEDH) at the Catholic University of Portugal.

ALEXANDRA PEREIRA CARNEIRO

Holds a PhD in Educational Sciences and a master's degree in Philosophy of Education from the Faculdade de Letras ( Humanities) of the University of Porto. A consultant with SAME since 2009, she has been involved in teacher training projects, focused supervision and assessment.

ANDREIA MAGALHÃES

Researcher at the Catholic Learning Innovation Lab (CLIL) and guest lecturer at Católica Porto Business School. Holds a degree in Chemistry (Educational Branch) from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto. Master's in Educational Sciences with a specialization in School Administration from Lusófona University, a postgraduate diploma in Educational Multimedia from the University of Aveiro, and a PhD in Educational Sciences from the Catholic University of Portugal with the thesis "The Potential of the Internet of Things in an Interdisciplinary Approach to the Curriculum in Science Education at Lower Secondary Level." She also completed a postdoctoral project on "The Internet of Things, Pedagogical Assessment, and the Promotion of Learning."

ANTÓNIO OLIVEIRA

António Manuel Branco Oliveira holds a postdoctoral degree in Integral Human Development from the Catholic Doctoral School (CADOS), UCP; a PhD in Educational Sciences with a specialization in School Administration and Organization from the Faculty of Education and Psychology, UCP; and a degree in Religious Studies from the Faculty of Theology, UCP. He is a Religious Education teacher in the Pedrouços School, also serving as Director's Advisor, TEIP Coordinator, and Department Coordinator. He is a Collaborating Member of the Centre for the Study of Human Development (CEDH) and an External Consultant at SAME, Faculty of Education and Psychology, UCP. Guest Lecturer in the Master's in Religious Sciences (Distance Learning) at the Faculty of Theology, UCP.

DIANA MESQUITA

Diana Mesquita is a Guest Lecturer at the Faculty of Education and Psychology of UCP where she also serves as Director of the Research Centre for Human Development (CEDH).
Her research interests include: Professional and Organizational Development, Collaborative Teacher Learning, Professional Learning Communities, Teacher Education, Pedagogical and Curricular Innovation, Active Learning, Higher Education, and STEM Education. She is a member of the Portuguese Society of Educational Sciences (SPCE) and the Portuguese Society for Engineering Education (SPEE). She is also a scientific reviewer for leading journals such as the European Journal of Teacher Education (Routledge) and the Journal of Engineering Education (Wiley).

FÁTIMA BRAGA

Holds a PhD in Education – Curriculum Development. She is a teacher in Basic and Secondary Education, a researcher at the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), as well as for the Network for Innovation and Education Improvement at the Manuel Leão Foundation.
She is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Revista Portuguesa de Investigação Educacional (Portuguese Journal of Educational Research). Additionally, she is part of the Core Team for the Monitoring, Support, and Research Project on Pedagogical Assessment at the Directorate-General for Education (DGE)
FERNANDO ALEXANDRE

Holds a PhD in Educational Sciences (specialization in Personal, Social, and Community Education) from the Portuguese Open University, a Master's in Education and Development from Universidade Nova de Lisboa, and a degree in Geography from the University of Lisbon. Currently a Senior Officer in the Interdisciplinary Projects and Training Team (EPIF) at the Directorate-General for School Administration. Guest lecturer at Portuguese Open University. Researcher at the Centre for the Study of Migration and Intercultural Relations (CEMRI). External expert for the TEIP Programme at the Catholic University of Portugal. Member on the Commission on Geographic Education of the International Geographical Union. His research interests focus on teacher knowledge construction, professional identity development, and reflective practices in initial teacher training. He has also contributed to the analysis of teacher education models, particularly regarding the application of reflective practices in initial training.

FILIPE COUTO

Filipe Couto holds a PhD in Educational Sciences from the Faculty of Psychology and Education at UCP He carried out a postdoctoral research project at the same university with the research project “Territorial Development and Educational Policies: The Socio-Pedagogical Qualification of Stakeholders”. Since 2004, he has been involved in various education and teacher training projects in developing countries, particularly in Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Timor-Leste, and Zambia.

FRANCISCO SOARES

Francisco Freire Soares holds a degree in Music from the Escola Superior das Artes do Espetáculo, a Master's in Music Education from the School of Arts at UCP, and is currently completing a PhD in Educational Sciences at the Faculty of Education and Psychology at UCP.
Since 2017, he has been a collaborator at SAME, where he has developed several projects in the field of Education and Teacher Training.

Generosa Pinheiro

Generosa Pinto Silva Vilela Pinheiro holds a PhD and a Master's in Educational Sciences, specializing in School Administration and Organization, from the Faculty of Education and Psychology of the Catholic University of Portugal. She also holds a degree in Modern Languages and Literatures from the Faculdade de Letras (Humanities) of the University of Porto. She is a Portuguese teacher at Basic and Secondary Education and has held various school leadership and advisory positions over the years. She has published several scientific articles in national and international journals and is consultant in the Network for Innovation and Improvement in Education (Fundação Manuel Leão).

ISABEL BAPTISTA

Isabel Baptista is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Education and Psychology (FEP / UCP) with a PhD in Philosophy and a Master's in Philosophy of Education from the University of Porto (FLUP). She is President of the Pedagogical Council - FEP / UCP; Coordinator of the Master's Programs in Educational Sciences - FEP / UCP; President of the Monitoring Council for the Ethics Charter of the Portuguese Society of Educational Sciences (SPCE) and Director of the journal A Página da Educação (Profedições). In March 2019, she was appointed Ethics Ombudsperson of the Porto Regional Centre of UCP for the 2019/2022 term.

JORGE NASCIMENTO

Jorge do Nascimento Pereira da Silva holds a Master's in Education from the Institute of Education and Psychology at the University of Minho, where he is also pursuing his PhD in the same field. He has been a SAME consultant since its inception, contributing to national projects in education and teacher training. As a collaborator with UCP - Porto, he regularly participates in school external evaluation processes in partnership with IGEC.

JOSÉ MATIAS ALVES

José Joaquim Ferreira Matias Alves is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Education and Psychology of the Catholic University of Portugal. He has authored or edited 149 books and 85 book chapters, published 47 scientific articles in specialized journals, 37 articles in newspapers and magazines, and 4 editorial pieces. He served as Coordinator of the Final Reports Evaluation Commission in the field of Education Sciences and Policies (FCT) [2016–18; 2019–22]. Deputy Director of the Faculty of Education and Psychology (2011–2021). He is President of the Fiscal Council of the Portuguese Society of Educational Sciences (since 2017), member of the Scientific Committee of the XIV and XV Congresses of the Portuguese Society of Educational Sciences (2018 and 2020), and has supervised 68 Master's Dissertations, 14 Doctoral Theses, and 2 Postdoctoral projects. He was also a member of the Scientific Council for Teacher Evaluation (2008), President of the Municipal Assembly of Gondomar (2009–2013), and Director-General for Secondary Education (1994–1996).

JOSÉ REIS LAGARTO

José Reis Lagarto holds a PhD in Educational Sciences – Training Systems and Distance Education. He is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Human Sciences and serves on the Scientific Council of both the Faculty of Human Sciences and the Faculty of Education and Psychology at the Catholic University of Portugal (UCP). He coordinates the scientific field of Psychopedagogical Sciences at FCH and the Master's in Educational Sciences with a specialization in ICT and Education, offered via distance learning since 2003. He teaches courses in Distance Education and eLearning, Multimedia and Communication, Project Seminar in ICT and Education, and Research Methodology in Education. Author of numerous books and articles on professional training, distance learning, ICT in education, technologies for teaching deaf students, and classroom innovation. His research focuses on e-learning project design and the influence of ICT policies on teaching and learning processes. He supervises Master's and PhD research. Within SAME, he is responsible for operational coordination of TEIP Schools and serves as Science Consultant in various schools in southern Portugal.

Lídia Serra

Lídia Serra holds a degree in Biology (Educational Branch and Scientific-Technological Branch) from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto. She also holds a Master's in Marine Sciences – Marine Resources from the Institute of Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar and a PhD in Educational Sciences (School Management and Administration) from the Catholic University of Portugal. She has been a teacher in basic and secondary education since 1992, undertaking various coordination, supervision, and project leadership roles. She is a trainer for the Maia-Trofa Training Centre, author of multiple school textbooks published by Porto Editora, and a consultant for the RIMED Network of the Fundação Manuel Leão. She has published numerous scientific articles in national and international journals.

MARIA SIMÕES CARVALHO

Marisa Simões Carvalho holds a degree in Psychology from the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto (1999), a Master's in School Psychology from the Institute of Education and Psychology of the University of Minho (2007), and a PhD in Vocational Psychology from the School of Psychology of the University of Minho (2013). She is currently pursuing a PhD in Educational Sciences at the Faculty of Education and Psychology of the UCP.
She is a Guest Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Education and Psychology of the UCP and a collaborator of the Service for the Support and Enhancement of Education (SAME). She participates in national and international education projects (e.g., Inclusive Early Childhood Education - European Agency for Special Needs and Inclusive Education).

MIGUEL BORGES
SAME Consultant
Miguel Borges holds a degree in Teaching from the Bragança School of Education, specialized in School Management and Administration from Portucalense University, a Master’s in Education, and a PhD in Child Studies, with a specialization in Development and Educational Psychology, both from the University of Minho.
He held a leadership role in the Pedrouços School Cluster in Maia.
He worked at the Aga Khan Foundation Portugal, collaborating with the Directorate-General for Education, Directorate-General for Books, Archives and Libraries, and the School Libraries Network. He was a resident trainer for the National Portuguese Teaching Program (2006–2010) and coordinated the Social Impact Title/Integrated Literacy Promotion Program (2018–2021).
He is a teacher trainer at APEI’s Training Center, CFAE Maia-Trofa, and CFAE Barcelos-Esposende.
He has lecturer in higher education in initial teacher training. He served as a specialist consultant for the Municipality of Barcelos. He is an international expert consultant at the Center for Public Policy and Education Assessment (CAEd) of the Brazilian Ministry of Education and Science and at Associação Bem Comum, Brazil.
He is a children’s literature author and co-author of school and supplementary textbooks.
He is a researcher at the Research Center on Child Studies (CIEC) – University of Minho.
Currently, he coordinates the scientific and pedagogical implementation of the SPARKLE Program, developed by the Association of Early Childhood Education Professionals across four school clusters (Coruche, Frazão, Alvide, and Pardilhó), funded by the Portugal Social Innovation Mission Structure.
He is a Consultant at the Service for the Support and Enhancement of Education (SAME), Faculty of Education and Psychology UCP. He is also a speaker and lecturer on various education-related topics such as school-family relationships, literacy, learning to read and write, and teacher career development.

PEDRO MIGUEL TEIXEIRA DE JESUS

Pedro Miguel Teixeira de Jesus holds a PhD in Educational Sciences, specializing in School Administration and Organization, from the Faculty of Education and Psychology UCP (2023). He is a consultant in innovation processes related to improving school education.
His research focuses on educational and pedagogical innovation, school leadership, professional teacher collaboration, and the participation of children and young people in innovation and school improvement processes.
He is a visual arts teacher, teacher trainer, and director of a teacher training center. He is also an architect.

RODRIGO QUEIRÓZ E MELO

Rodrigo Queiróz e Melo holds a degree in Law and a PhD in Educational Sciences. He is the Executive Director of AEEP (Association of Private and Cooperative Education Establishments), President of the General Council of IAVE, I.P., and a member of the National Education Council. He is also Vice-President of CEPCEP (Center for Studies on Portuguese-Speaking Peoples and Cultures, UCP).
He has over 15 years of experience in the continuing education of school leaders, coordinates national and international R&D projects, and is the author of several works on educational freedom, educational system regulation, and school management.

SÓNIA SILVA DA COSTA

Sónia Silva da Costa born in Angra do Heroísmo, Terceira Island, and currently living in Seixal.
PhD candidate in Evaluation at the Institute of Education, University of Lisbon (currently in the thesis phase, with a pre-approved project in 2021 on school self-evaluation).
Postgraduate specialization in Neuroscience and Brain Neuroplasticity from the University of Shiraz, Israel (2022).
Specialization in Neuropsychology from Cognos in 2022.
She holds a Master’s in School Administration, with a dissertation on school self-evaluation presented in 2019 at the UCP.
Postgraduate specialization in Special Education, cognitive-motor domain, with a study on ADHD, teacher perceptions, and a proposed training plan, presented in 2019 at ISCIA.
