“In the last decade, doing science has become the equivalent of ‘writing papers’. The prevailing ‘publish or perish’ takes our breath away without us even realising it. The moment we enthusiastically celebrate the submission of a paper, we immediately realise we need another one, and then another; it will never be enough because we compete more than we collaborate.”
