Synopsis
Insights from Sport Psychology to help us become high-performing professionals
What do Cristiano Ronaldo, Simone Biles, Roger Federer and many other elite athletes have in common? It’s easy to accept the idea that they were born with certain innate qualities which, combined with intense training, a strong sense of sacrifice and remarkable resilience, have been refined almost to perfection.
But if these elite athletes are truly “superhuman”, are the rest of us — “mere ordinary citizens” — left with nothing more than the privilege of admiring them? What can we really learn from them? How do they overcome adversity? How do they stay motivated when results don’t come?
In this talk, we will explore how insights from Sport and Performance Psychology can help us develop the skills needed to become high-performing individuals and professionals in a variety of contexts.
