The Collaborative Pathways to Inclusive Education microcredential addresses current challenges in higher education by promoting inclusive pedagogical approaches that strengthen equity in international academic contexts.
Grounded in the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) - multiple means of engagement, representation, and action and expression - the course is based on a pedagogical model that values accessibility, flexibility and active student participation.
Aims of the programme
The programme aims to equip educators with strategies, models and technologies that support the effective integration of inclusive practices within their professional contexts, fostering a more aware, equitable and student‑centred pedagogical approach.
Funded by the Transform4Europe Seed Funding Programme for Teaching and Learning Collaboration, this microcredential results from an interinstitutional partnership between Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP), University of Alicante (UA), Saarland University (UdS) and Vytautas Magnus University (VMU). The partnership is committed to the co‑creation of pedagogical resources and to the dissemination of inclusive practices across higher education systems.
As a complementary initiative, an optional and international online Community of Learning and Practice (CoLP) is planned to take place after the completion of the microcredential. Further information will be provided at a later stage. This initiative aims to foster peer collaboration, support the implementation of learning outcomes and enhance the overall impact of the programme, positioning the microcredential as a catalyst for pedagogical innovation and more inclusive learning environments.
