Program Description

The Department of Education and Psychology's Master's in Psychology provides the acquisition of knowledge and the development of advanced skills in assessment, intervention and research. There are three areas of specialization:

  1. Clinical and Health Psychology
  2. Psychology of Education and Human Development
  3. Psychology of Justice and Deviant Behaviors

Why a Master's in Psychology?

  • We have students of many nationalities and visiting through the Erasmus Program, fostering an enriching cultural exchange

  • We offer services to help students transition into the labor market

Plan of Study

The Master's curriculum also fosters the development of widely applicable skills, which are highly valued by the job market and essential to the pursuit of Psychology (e.g., initiative and proactivity, critical thinking, communication skills, adaptability, complex problem solving and independent / teamwork)

Guaranteed access to the Portuguese Psychological Mandate (Law 57 / 2008 of the fourth of September). In response to the European Diploma in Psychology/European Framework for Psychologists' Training, the Master's Degree in Psychology has two key components:

  • Professional: Includes the pursuit of a Curricular Internship throughout the school year
  • Academic/Research: Includes the completion of a research project / a Master's Thesis

The Master's degree in Psychology at FEP-UCP is accredited by the Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Agency (ref. CEF/0910/14802).
