The courses award ECTS credits and are aimed at diverse audiences from non-STEMA (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) fields.

The Faculty of Education and Psychology at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (FEP-UCP) has launched two non-degree online courses focused on the digital transformation of education and distance learning.

The courses target a broad audience from non-STEMA (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) backgrounds, with the aim of developing digital skills among these groups.

The course “Digital Transformation in Education” (12 ECTS) is scheduled to run from 1 July to 25 September 2025. Its structure combines 40 contact hours with independent study, with classes held online two to three days per week.

Meanwhile, the “Postgraduate Course in Distance Learning” (25 ECTS) will take place from October 2025 to February 2026, including 80 contact hours and additional independent work.

Sessions will also be conducted online two to three days per week, with the option of two in-person sessions on Saturday mornings.

Applicants to either course may be eligible for scholarships funded by the PRR (covering 100% of tuition fees), provided they meet the admission requirements outlined in the official notices on each course’s webpage.

Courses offered as part of the “Training for Digital Transformation” programme

This initiative is part of UCP’s Training for Digital Transformation programme, which includes ten non-degree courses designed to equip young people and adults with university-level experience in non-STEMA fields for the challenges of technological change. The programme is part of the Portuguese Government’s Impulso Mais Digital initiative and its sub-measure Strengthening Digital Skills.
