Bio

Rita Tavares de Sousa is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Education and Psychology of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa. She holds a PhD in Educational Sciences from the University of Porto, she is a researcher at the Centre for Research and Intervention in Education (CIIE) and a collaborating member of the Research Centre for Human Development (CEDH-UCP).

Her research interests include: Initial and Continuing Teacher Education; Teacher Professionalism; the Research-Teaching Nexus; Teacher Professional Development; Pedagogical Innovation; Professional Learning Communities; Active Learning; and Higher Education.

She is currently a member of the executive board of the Portuguese Society of Educational Sciences (SPCE).
