Marisa Simões Carvalho holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Porto, a Master’s degree in School Psychology, and a PhD in Psychology from the University of Minho, as well as a PhD in Education Science from Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
She is currently an Assistant Professor at Universidade Católica Portuguesa, where she is engaged in teaching and research in Education and Psychology, with a particular focus on Inclusive Education.
At the Faculty of Education and Psychology, she serves as Vice-Dean for Teaching Management and coordinates the Educational Improvement Service. She is also an integrated researcher at the Research Centre for Human Development (CEDH-UCP). At the Porto Regional Centre of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, she holds the position of Ombudsperson for Equality and Inclusion.
In addition to her teaching and research activities, she has been actively involved in community service, notably serving as President of the Educational Psychology Specialties Council of the Portuguese Psychologists’ Professional Association (2021–2024).
