Friday, July 26, 2024 - 15:33

The Assembly that makes up the INOV-NORTE Consortium - Centre of Excellence for Pedagogical Innovation in the North Region, of which the Universidade Católica (UCP) is a member, met on 23 July at the UCP Porto for the second plenary meeting of the Consortium.

This face-to-face meeting was attended by more than 30 members of the Consortium from six higher education institutions in the Northern Region: the University of Porto (which is leading the project), the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, the Polytechnic Institute of Porto, the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança and the Nursing School of Porto.

The Pro-Rector of the Universidade Católica in Porto, Isabel Braga da Cruz, and the Vice-Rector, Isabel Vasconcelos, opened the meeting, welcoming the participants and stressing the importance of the INOV-NORTE project in a context where pedagogical innovation is becoming increasingly important in higher education.

Diana Soares, coordinator and founder of the Católica Learning Innovation Lab (CLIL), which is part of the consortium, and Maitê Gil, education and professional development specialist of the Lab, were the UCP representatives at the meeting, where the progress of the work plan related to the implementation of the project was discussed.

This meeting follows on from the project kick-off meeting held at the University of Porto last May. The next face-to-face plenary meeting will be held in three months' time, on 29 October, at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança.

It should be remembered that INOV-NORTE aims to promote pedagogical changes towards excellence in teaching, in line with contemporary reference trends at national and international levels.

The project is funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), under the ‘Impulso Mais Digital’ Programme (Investment RE-C06-i07), sub-measure Innovation and Pedagogical Modernisation in Higher Education - Creation of centres of excellence for pedagogical innovation.
