On the 13th of September, the Faculty of Education and Psychology of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (FEP-UCP) welcomed the new students of the Master's in Psychology, in a session that marked the beginning of a new stage in the academic life of the Master's students.
The meeting, which took place at 2.30pm, was attended by the coordinator of the Master's programme, Marisa Carvalho, and tutors Elisa Veiga and Lurdes Veríssimo. The aim of the meeting was to present the structure of the Master's programme, clarify any doubts and promote the integration of the new students.
The beginning of an exciting journey
Marisa Carvalho, coordinator of the Master's programme, stressed the importance of this first meeting for everyone involved: "This is a pivotal moment for us to gain insight into your backgrounds, for you to become acquainted with us, and for you to foster connections with one another."
Tutors Elisa Veiga and Lurdes Veríssimo presented their areas of expertise and explained their role in providing guidance and support to students throughout the duration of their Master's programme.
Both encouraged the students to make the most of the experience. “The Master's experience depends essentially on you, on your willingness to want to know more, to ask questions, to be active and critical. I urge you to take this attitude. In a year's time, some of you will already be in your internships, which is an encouraging and inspiring prospect”, said Lurdes Veríssimo.
A Master's degree with three specialisations
The FEP-UCP Master's in Psychology offers its students comprehensive training in three distinct areas of specialisation: Clinical Psychology and Health, Psychology of Education and Human Development and Psychology of Justice and Deviant Behavior.
With a highly qualified teaching staff and a stimulating learning environment, the Master's programme enables the acquisition of knowledge and the development of advanced skills in assessment, intervention and research.
