Rosário Serrão is a Ph.D. student in the international doctoral program in "Applied Psychology: Adaptation and change in contemporary societies", taught by three universities: Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Portugal); Universitat Ramon Llull (Spain); and Nottingham Trent University (UK). She recently visited Nottingham Trent University to get support in data analysis for her thesis.
During this visit, Rosário Serrão collected data at a school in England and gathered knowledge of the English school context. She also received support in the analysis of data from individual interviews and assistance with qualitative and quantitative data analysis within the Ph.D. program. The doctoral student contributed to the organization of the International Conference on Social Identity and Health 5, and participated in the same event.
"Research stays are great opportunities to get to know other teaching and research environments, strengthen my relationship with my Ph.D. supervisors, establish relationships with people from other cultures and fellow Ph.D. students, and broaden the reflection about my data through discussions with other researchers," says Rosário Serrão.
This visit opens doors for a next meeting, already scheduled for next year with Rosário Serrão's participation in the International Conference on Social Identity and Health 6, as well as proceeding with close collaboration with the supervisors.
"The visit has proven to be a very enriching experience for the student, as well as for the international collaboration between FEP and NUT," says Patrícia Oliveira Silva, vice-director of the Faculty of Education and Psychology for internationalization.
