“This week they start a new stage": welcome of the new students of the Master in PDRH

The Faculty of Education and Psychology (FEP-UCP) welcomed the first-year students of the Master in Psychology of Human Resources Development (PDRH). The welcome session was marked by moments of inspiration, sharing and integration.

Filipa Sobral, coordinator of the Master's programme, highlighted the importance of this new journey in the students' academic life. “This week marked the beginning of a new stage for the Master's in Psychology of Human Resources Development, welcoming a new generation of students who are enthusiastic about the solid, interdisciplinary training that our programme offers.”

“As coordinator, I hope that the next two years will be full of discoveries and challenges, allowing each of our students to find their way, develop their professional identity and acquire the skills that will lead them to make a difference in the organisations where they will work as psychologists in the future,” she said.

 

Students and graduates shared their testimonies

The testimonies of Aidé Andrade, a Master's student, Rita Sousa Barbosa and Matilde Oliveira, 2nd year students, were the highlights of the session. 

Aidé Andrade shared her experience, highlighting the comprehensive preparation the course provides for the different needs of an HR department. “Above all, I believe that this Master's degree has allowed me to develop the soft skills that the labour market requires today, such as resilience, availability and the ability to adapt quickly to new challenges.”

Rita Sousa Barbosa, for her part, stressed the importance of unity among the students and the organisation of time and resources as the key to success. I have emphasised that group work and mutual support are fundamental to success. I also stressed the need to organise your time and resources well, as this made all the difference to my experience.”

The event also included a welcome message from Raquel Matos, Director of the FEP-UCP, and a presentation on mentoring by lecturer Adélia MonarcaThe Faculty's Student Association was also represented at the reception, reinforcing the spirit of community and mutual support among the students.

The new students' reception took place on 30 September 2024 and culminated in a moment of conviviality and a group photo, symbolising the start of an academic journey full of challenges and opportunities.

The Faculty of Education and Psychology wishes all the new PDRH Master's students a successful academic career and personal and professional enrichment.
