After completing this course, students should be able to:
- Describe the characteristics of quantitative/qualitative research methodologies;
- Apply the theoretical and methodological rationale to research questions;
- Develop sophisticated quantitative/qualitative studies (research questions, rationale, design, participant selection, data collection, and analysis);
- Select and perform quantitative/qualitative data analysis;
- Demonstrate understanding of statistical analysis, testing of assumptions, and logic in selecting statistical procedures; assumptions, readings, and interpretations associated with the various statistical procedures studied;
- Understand the implications of qualitative data analysis according to qualitative research approaches;
- Write and review quantitative and/or qualitative academic research, producing and disseminating knowledge based on specific data analysis methods.
