Filipe Martins is an Invited Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Education and Psychology of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa and Researcher at the Research Centre for Human Development. He holds a PhD in Urban Anthropology from ISCTE - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (2013), with the thesis " Among Project and Coexistence: being young in the periphery of Mindelo, Cape Verde ". He subsequently carried out post-doctoral studies in Education Sciences at the Catholic University of Portugal. He has been carrying out ethnographic research with young people in urban contexts in Cape Verde and Portugal, with a particular focus on educational trajectories, school inclusion and civic participation. He has collaborated in various socio-educational projects and organisations, both in Portugal and Cape Verde, in the areas of social inclusion, community development, education for citizenship and human rights and cultural diversity. He is currently coordinating a nationwide research project on the assessment of citizenship skills within a school context.
