Program Description

The training of teaching professionals who work in back-to-back stages of childhood – Early Childhood Education and the first cycle of primary school education – has been divided into two organizational levels that have been developed with regard to notably different traditions, histories and cultures. This divide contributes to the difficulty young children face when continuing their education across the two levels. Achieving a harmony to bridge the divide requires a continuous and concrete educational plan, which would facilitate and promote the transition with minimal difficulty.

Therefore, it appears timely to begin an advanced training program, which has been almost nonexistent in current designs for this group, that will promote the joint efforts of all professionals involved in expanding knowledge to ensure the quality of these children's education.

This program is centered on promoting a continuity between Early Childhood Education as one transitions into the initial stages of the first cycle of Basic / Primary School. It aims to promote synergy between the professionals of these varying levels in the institutions where they work to ensure a smooth transition in the children's education. Thus, this program will allow participants to fulfill the principle of progressive sequentiality described in the Basic Laws of the Educational System.

This program:

  • Is designed for remote learning.
  • Is taught by an internationally and nationally renownded faculty in Education Science, particularly for Early Childhood Education and Basic / Primary School (first cycle)
  • Is supported by the Aga Khan Foundation.
  • Is an innovative proposition that hardly exists in the current market
  • Is part of a practice that connects to the organizational contexts where education professionals work, offering support beyond the program.
  • Blends training, research and practice

Scientifc Area: Education Science

Targeted Group: Early Childhood Educators and/or Primary School Teachers (first cycle)
