The Human Neurobehavioral Laboratory (HNL) is a stimulating teaching and research context dedicated to Neurosciences. The essence of the HNL lies in the dedication of a group of young researchers with a strong interest in developing research of excellence and directly linked to societal problems and challenges, applying the lens of the Neurosciences, and pushing boundaries by strengthening international partnerships.
Currently, the ability to understand and evaluate research developed in the Neurosciences is an essential asset for professionals in different areas. Namely, experiments with high ecological validity and more objective measures of the neurophysiological responsiveness pattern represent a necessary part of professional training.
Research at the HNL engages academic departments and disciplines across the Psychology, Neurosciences, Bioengineering, Arts, Economy, and Biotechnology.
The HNL is also a context where students and young researchers, national and international, are welcomed and can develop a career path as they are guided and trained in a welcoming and encouraging environment.
The HNL has three central objectives:
With a modern infrastructure, the HNL is equipped for scientific studies with central and peripheral neurophysiological measures. The laboratory benefits from funding from different sources to keep resources that allow researchers to investigate human behavior's cognitive and neurophysiological underpinnings.
