Maria Elisa Pina Tomaz Veiga is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Education and Psychology, Catholic University of Portugal, in Porto. She obtained her Master's Degree in Psychology of Child Development and Education in 1995. She completed her PhD in Psychology at the University of Porto in 2006, with a grant from PRODEP.
She develops research in the field of developmental trajectories and contexts (family, reception of children and young people at risk, health, education), namely in the problematic of family transitions (parenthood, post-divorce, loss/mourning) in situations of vulnerability (social risk, prematurity, neurodevelopmental disorders, mental health problems, severe and terminal illness, migration).
